Sleep. Lots and lots of sleep. Always I sleep and never am I rested. Casper's mom needs to get me an appt with the doc's at her place...I've gained almost 10 pounds in 5 days-all fluid.
Movie...ooooh, my boys saw The Mist Friday night-they weren't impressed. I want go see AWAKE. There is such a thing as anesthesia awareness-I've had patients that have had it-and a first cousin that had an emergency C-section-and felt EVERYTHING.
Stacey, you asked for an egg nog recipe on Friday. Didn't read it until yesterday when I popped into the office, so I grabbed mine up before church this morning so I could scribble it in for you today.
This comes from my former sports editor, Tommy Wiggins. He calls it Granny Wiggins egg nog. It is WONDERFUL. Put it in your coffee too. My suggestions to the recipe are in the [brackets].
3 eggs, 1 cup sugar, 4 cups milk,1 tablespoon vanilla, 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk (you know the real thick oooey kind, not evaporated), dash nutmeg.
Separate egg whites in bowl, put yolks in blender, add sugar, milk, condensed milk and vanilla and blend well. Pour into sauce pan and heat just to boiling. [Or you can put it in microwave safe bowl and do the same. Can judge the temperature better and it won't scortch on the bottom like milk sometimes does on the stove eye] While your milk is cooking, begin beating egg whites, add the 2 tablespoons sugar to them as you beat. [They should almost be the consistentcy of merigune, at soft peak stage.] Blend this into your hot liquid and chill. [but it's good warm, too.] add dash of nutmeg after chilled.
Hope you enjoy this. It is rich! I'm thinking about adding instant chocolate to a cup of it this year and see how that tastes. When you see me flying over like eagle you will know it was good.
I copied your recipe too, Regina. It sure does sound good.
I would have a hard time getting off the ground to fly right now though. Mr. Eagle went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things and came back with some chicken for him and a bag of fried chicken livers for me. They were so good - no offense intended Clucky - that the dog only got a whiff, and not a bite!
Clucky, thank you for the comments on The Mist. I have been wanting to see it since it's a Stephen King movie, but will probably now wait until it hits HBO.
After watching Good Morning America and the Sunday Morning Show this morning and seeing all the snow up north, I had to call a good friend of mine who lives and works in downtown Detroit to see if she was snowed in. She said the downtown area has underground heaters that melt the snow, so she is in good shape. She said the outskirts may be snowy, but she has to watch the news herself to see that. We went on a cruise last year and she flew down to go with us, along with 90 others in our group. She has signed up for 2 more cruises in the coming year. I wish we could join her for those, but if that Powerball doesn't come through before then, we won't be able to. I was glad to hear her voice because I haven't seen her in a year.
Well I picked the Saints on my HGTV football picks again this week. The top prize is a 42" TV, but I am 12,000 something on the list, so I am not even expecting a concilation prize.
I found a free video poker place online that let's me double up just like the real thing. Now I'm hooked. I told y'all I need a job!
Just got back from VA -- a usual Sunday for us -- Church, quick lunch, FPU class, errands (including buying cheap gas), dinner with a friend -- coax sleepy / delirious toddler into bed 2 1/2 hours after bedtime.

We are going to be tired puppies tonight... got a roast in the crock pot so we don't even have to decide on dinner.

We survived chimneyville! Met dhcoop and another MRBA'er who remains anonymous on the blog so I won't out her now :) which was fun!!
