In the board's defense, Dr. Thompson was adamant when he was first approached about becoming the interim that he did not want the job permanently again. That was why they hired the search firm. The problem that the search firm ran into was that none of the applicants were completely qualified for the position, i.e. having both strong public health credentials and a thorough understanding of the situation here in Mississippi. Basically the Board talked Dr. T into accepting it after the search firm presented their national candidates.
I think Deuce McAllister should just take over some of these citywide duties and help relieve some of these folks who hold down 2 or 3 jobs at a time. With the highest unemployment rate in the entire United States, you would think having to do 2 or 3 jobs by yourself wouldn't be a problem.

I think Frank should have taken over.
Maybe in his mind he has.
I think Dr. Thompson will do an excellent job (like he did previously)...
I just wish we didn't waste over $90,000 tax dollars to get back to square one on a national search.
I think McMillin should have gotten it.
That's an honest concern. They could have used that money toward a pedestrian bridge for the people have to Cross State street.
Great hire in Dr. T.
