14. S. B. "Sam" Vick of Oakland, played for the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. He was the only man ever to pinch hit for baseball great Babe Ruth.

I think it is in error to list Mr.
Sam Vick (the only man to ever pinch hit for Babe Ruth) as being from Oakland, Mississippi. He was
from Pope, MS -- but may have lived
on an Oakland RFD route.
