Question of the day

Is the Liberty Bowl where State should be going?

Sure, I mean it's on the level in the SEC pecking order with the Music City Bowl. While many would much prefer being in Nashville (me included) on New Year's Eve, the Liberty Bowl is not bad. It's a lot better than sitting at home as State has been for the last six years.

I'm happy with it. I already ordered my tickets!

I know some Alabama people were sad that we didn't get that bowl (it's the 25th anniversary of Bear's last win there). But, hey, we should just be glad that we even get to go to a bowl game!!! even if it is the (former) Poulan Weedeater Bowl.

I'm tickled that State is going Bowling this year -- and there is some fun stuff to do in Memphis! :)
(I'm thinking ribs from Rendezvous . . . ).

I wanted the Music City bowl and Florida State.

I would have preferred the Music City for personal reasons (Nashville is a really fun town and the home of Yazoo Brewery – awesome beer!) but I’m VERY happy with the Liberty Bowl. I don’t think it’s really sunk in yet. We are going freakin bowling!

I'm with VHDAWG. I posted this in your "give me liberty" post first, but it fits here, too.

I was hoping this would be the year MSU played Florida State in a bowl. I have a good friend who's a fan of FSU and we figure this year was as good a chance as any for the two teams to meet. But I am happy they are going to any bowl game after the last seven years. GO DAWGS!

Maybe it will snow again...just like Shreveport 7 years ago

Prefer Nashville to Memphis and FSU to UCF. But I'll take Liberty.

I always enjoyed the games when Southern played Florida State. FSU always put on a great show.

We flew to Memphis one football weekend years ago with no tickets to the game. We were directed to Grisanti's Restaurant (back when the Grisanti father was living). We were able to not only get tickets to the game, but had a wonderful meal and seats on one of the 6 police escorted buses to the stadium. We ended up having a great weekend!

Nashville would have been nice. Maybe Memphis will be.

I wish we had gone to Memphis too but I am thrilled that we are even playing in Shreveport...or anywhere for that matter. Congrats to my State friends...you deserve it and I couldn't be happier for Croom. He is a total class act and he's a Bama boy!
