Marshall Ramsey, 39, is the editorial cartoonist for The Clarion-Ledger. He is a two-time Pulitzer finalist and is nationally syndicated by Copley News Service. His cartoons have appeared in USA Today, Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times and on his Mother's refrigerator. It is also rumored that his work has appeared frequently in the bathrooms of several prominent local politicians.

I agree with Butch. Some of my favorite beers are illegal to sell in Mississippi (but perfectly legal in nearly every other state).
I'm 3rding the fixing of our discriminatory laws regarding malt beverages.
+4 on the beer laws.
legalizing home brewed beer
Raising 6% ABV cap on beer and less stringent regulation on brewpubs and breweries. The increase will put us in line with 47 of the other 50 states and open up an entire "cottage" industry (microbreweries and brewpubs). I suggest that everyone do some research and look at the positive economic impact that similar legislation passed in NC in 2005 has had on that state.
Mississippi's craftbrew aficinados and homebrewers spend hundreds of thousands of dollars annually out-of-state in order to get the products that are complex and sophisticated, just like fine wine. And are enjoyed responsibly, just like they have been for nearly a thousand years.

Agree with Butch and the like. I have spent countless money on beer in other states...3 hours to Memphis...6 hours to Atlanta...4 hours to Little Rock...3 hours to New Orleans...4 hours to Pensacola...etc...probably about $1500 or so in the last year ($250 just at Thanksgiving)
I would much rather be spending that money here in Mississippi. Why does MS have to lead the nation in almost every category...we're the fattest, poorest, most illiterate, and have one of the worst alcohol laws.

Also making Mississippi's homebrewing law resemble the federal law, that was passed in 1978.
