I saw one of the all-time dumbest things on Desperate Housewives (I know, it's not Masterpiece Theater, but even for Desperate Housewives this was particularly stupid)
There was a tornado watch and people were taping their windows.
That made my hair hurt.

"made my hair hurt" LOL! you can say some of the funniest things sometime Marshall. How is your fresh scar recovery coming?
Just dandy.
Amen, yes, the DH take on a tornado watch/warning is one of the worst things I have seen in a while. I was annoyed the whole episode.
They clearly confused preparing for a tornado with preparing for a hurricane (writers' possible defense -- all those storms that hurt those people in the South are alike). Food, bottled water, blankets, flashlights, taped windows, etc.
And clearly WLBT needs to open a branch wherever that show is located and sell some Midland Weather Alert Radios -- I didn't see a single weather radio on the show.
Final nit-pick -- after the storm hits, the street looks like a war zone right. EXCEPT that all the still-standing trees had all their leaves on them. A tornado comes through, the leaves get taken off the trees, Hollywood! Look it up!
Cow is kinda glad she doesn't watch that show anymore.
Moo!
Bunny always tapes her windows before a tornado.
It's to make sure you only see the tornado coming through a little teensey part of the window.
Less scary that way.
Hippity-hop!
I grab Toto and run around the house yelling, "Auntie Em! Auntie Em!"
Now that is a realistic portrayal of a tornado. I still get scared witless when I see the W of Oz.
Hollywood needs to stick to faking earthquakes.
I thought it would make a great season ender in case the screenwriters strike continues, but I hope we don't have to wait that long. After Victor got impaled by the picket from the fence, it showed Carlos falling into the house, so I don't know if he was killed too or not, and I don't remember any of the women being unaccounted for. I hope this isn't going to be another "Who shot JR?".
And, Jacksonam, it's on WAPT, not WLBT, not that that makes a whit of difference.
We all talked about the same thing, who tapes there windows before a tornado! But it is still one of the best shows on TV.
Anybody watch any of The Tin Man on Scifi last night. I watched it in bits and pieces between "Beautiful Mind". My son had the remote. They started watching Beautiful mind in school and he didn't get to finish it, so we had to watch that movie and see scraps of Tin Man.
I hope it goest to DVD. It's a six or eight hour miniseries event and they showed all of it last night. I wouldn't have seen all of it anyway.
It's a GOOD movie, though. The guy who played on Boomtown and Medical Examiner is the tin man. Great take on OZ.
I watched "Tin Man" last night too. It was surprisingly good. Can't wait until tonight.
When a tornado comes, I'm now heading to the Land of Topiary!!! Safest place around. A storm shelter is a very wise investment.
Were these the same writers that put udders on the boy cows in the Barnyard cartoon?
Now that's idiotic.
Udders make me laugh.
Cows make me glad all my candy is under my wing. Heh.
