Mistletoe report

With this being the second Mistletoe for the book, I had a little more time to breathe yesterday. We sold over 100 -- but not the huge amounts we did last year (around 1,000). So I got to observe more (a.k.a. look up every once in a while). Here are a few observations:

1. I think it was Mom and Daughter day. It's neat seeing moms and their daughters out shopping. Many of the daughters looked like clones of their moms. It was really uncanny.
2. I've said it before, I'll say again, Mistletoe runs like a Swiss watch. The Junior League have a very detailed plan that allows them to plug in new people with the same results each year. I wish State and City Government ran so smoothly.
3. The best way to clear the building would to announce "the owner of a white SUV left your lights on"
4. I saw Laurie Hickson-Smith from Trading Spaces. I've said it before and I will say it again -- she is one of the nicest humans on the planet. Period.
5. Robert and Wyatt's new book seems to be selling well. I saw Darden North selling his and Billy Watkins was selling his Moon book.
6. I have a big sign that says, "Hug me." A couple of older ladies tried to take me up on it.

It occured to me last night...I should have gotten a picture by the "Hug Me" sign. Shoot!

I'll be back to Mistletoe late this afternoon but the picture opportunity was lost.

(Ghost Town early yesterday morning vs. a massive mob this afternoon)

(don't want Topiary fussing at me)

Maybe you could get the Junior League to just take over local government. They'd actually get something done, and make the place look nice at the same time!
:)

Supermom, I was hoping someone had taken his picture by the hug me sign. That would have made good blog fodder if Andy or someone like that could sneak it on the post.

And Topiary seems to be asleep these days. She must be getting her ears trimmed or her hooves manicured.

Stacey, reckon you could arrange that? hee hee

I'm really more excited than I have any right to be over the prospect of spending an obscene amount of money this afternoon.

My mom's going to be there. Not the mom you're thinking about, though. I told her to introduce herself.

I can't stand anymore. I'm heading to Mistletoe. I'll see you there, Stacey.

Coach Trey took me last night, but we missed you. The white SUV observation made me laugh out loud. I've said the same exact thing about the church parking lot.

VHDawg, your mom introduced herself. She's a sweet lady -- nothing like you, of course. WAs very honored to meet you. I think I said some nice stuff about you. I meant most of it.

Met MSUWEather for the first time. She's cool.

One loyal reader hoped to meet Stacey. You guys are becoming rock stars on me.

Stacey IS a rock star. I'm flattered to call her friend.

Dang, I wish I'd stayed around for said loyal reader.

And yes I am a rock star. Guitar Hero III says so.

BOY I spent a lot of money today. But I'm like 85% done with my Christmas shopping! WOOOHOOOOOOOO!

Nice to see you again, Marshall, btw... how did you grow a full beard in a week? Did you put on Miracle Gro instead of your sunblock?

I <3 supermom :X

The beard did pop out faster this time. Don't know why -- must be the Flintstone vitamins I take.

We (meaning Mrs. R) got a chunk of our Christmas shopping done today. She had two hours of boy-free shopping time. She even informed me that she had bought the presents I am giving her. I can't wait to find out what I got her.

heh! Bet you are glad your shopping for her is almost done! lol!
