OK, this is choice. Writer Merrell Noden, a freelancer from New York, writes a story, tells the town it will be in Sports Illustrated, but SI doesn't want it so he sells it to Penthouse -- a magazine not normally read at the Wednesday Night Church Supper and Social hour. The town pitches a fit and the fit hits the fan. From the story: Tempers rose among residents this week as the Choctaw County School Board addressed a December issue of Penthouse magazine. The issue includes an article titled “Weir, Mississippi — How did this town produce six NFL players and a baseball All-Star?”
You can hear the conversation now: "Aw heck, Edith, I just read it for the article."

The small town of Weir needs to be grateful it was Penthouse Magazine and not Outhouse Magazine.
Doing a blog for work is like doing stand-up in Church.
Sorry, no pics or links.
LOL!!! The story was probably the only words in the whole magazine. Except for the ads for viagra, etc etc
I was looking for hotels in NOLA with fridges but without a huge price tag and without the charming funk of ghetto. now I'm regretting it.
Get a hotel in Weir instead.
