GET SOME REST Marshall. I'm on my way back home soon too. I got up one day too early myself and my lungs are punishing me.

Eagle, check out the last of the Wednesday free-for-all from yesterday. I somewhat answered your question about the song "Kay". I think you can find it after you read what I posted. Also posted the lyrics. Shhhh! don't tell Marshall. He's too drugged up this morning, maybe he won't notice.

Little man has been begging to "go Metro - go work wif Daddy!" So, as soon as we finish breakfast we're going to get dressed and head downtown! You'd think things would be slow this time of year in DC, but if we don't go today, it will be January before hubby has a "free" day where he can take time to show us around his office.
Little man LOVES riding the Metro, so it should be a fun day! :)

Mornin!

Well, if I had the equipment to get pictures out of my phone, I would post a pic of the snake I found in my bedroom when I got home last night. It was about 2 feet long, not a very thick snake, except right in its middle where there was a distinct form of a mouse, or more likely, a vole since we have so many of those around. It was pretty cool actually. Apparently Gracie (my baby girl cat) found the snake in the process of digestion, brought it in and played it to death. I just never know what my kids will bring home as gifts!

eew! :)

We're off to DC -- catch you guys later! :)

Coop, three Christmases ago I watched one of my cats catch a mouse, throw it in the air, catch it, cover it with paws, throw it in the air, repeat process... I couldn't take watching mouse torture on Christmas Day and I went and brought the cat back inside. Yes, our felines LOVE to give us shows and bring us gifts.

Katherine, did DC have enough moisture and cold over Thanksgiving weekend to have a dusting of the white stuff? If it would just have been a little colder, it was wet enough here. To me nothing is prettier than a light blanket of snow to make Christmas decorations stand out. Just enough snow to cover the ground, but not so much to make the roads and paths icky.

Regina, you totally nailed it. Thank you so much! I found it several years ago, but haven't been able to find it in a while and couldn't remember the recording artist. Thank you! It's my nomination for the best country and western song!

If $1.00 from every personalized or vanity car tag is "tagged" to go to the Mississippi Burn Center and Mississippi no longer has a burn center, where is this money going?

I take the same line as Lewis Grizzard when it comes to snakes: every snake of every color and every size is a copper-headed water rattler and if you spot it anywhere, it knows where you live and will be waiting on your doorstep the next time you step out.

Old Bopper said...

It's my understanding that the tag money is accumulated in a special account for a Burn Center and will be used when we get one.

I hope that is correct.

I hope you are right too, Old Bopper. I hope it doesn't fall into that same black hole that the casino money went into.

Well, they finally arrested Latasha Norman's old boyfriend. It's about time that someone was brought in and questioned. It seems to be more common that if someone is kidnapped, it is someone they know instead of an at random serial snatching.

Just got a breaking news email. They have found that poor child's body. No details.

Striking stagehands and theater producers have reached a tentative settlement that could end the strike on Broadway. I have seen a lot of people on GMA and the Today Show that went to NYC over the holidays to see plays, but were disappointed by the strike.

ugh that she's dead.
what possesses people to kill other people.
countless lives torn apart.
one beautiful life lost forever.
another life, that of the killer, pushed into a dark path it will be about impossible to recover from, so another beautiful life lost.
sigh

I say we send the perpetrator to Saudi Arabia. They tend to whack off offending appendeges.

I worked with a man whose daughter was killed by an ex-boyfriend, who then killed himself. They had a 1-year-old child, who is being reared by the grandparents. My friend went to the boy's funeral too because he was considered part of their family and he knew how the boy's family was hurting, just like his was.

Stanley Cole has now been charged with the murder of Latasha Norman.

Instead, we should pray for him. Clearly, he needs it.

Forcedtoretirelegaleagle said...

Me too, B Man, especially when they get behind the steering wheel!

the only thing worse than a drunk driver is a drunk person calling 911 over and over again with prank calls. to bad for him, they finally tracked him down.

where's ro -- if you can believe it, we ate lunch outside on our patio on Thanksgiving Day! It was freakishly warm up here that morning / afternoon. The cold front came through as we were eating Thanksgiving Dinner, and it was COLD on the way back from my sister's house, but, no white stuff. (although we did have a white Thanksgiving two years ago).

This has been a warmer than usual fall, so although we have some sleet / snow in the forecast for this weekend, I'm not expecting it to do anything. I'm trying not to pout too much, but that was one of the things I LOVED when we first moved up here was that it actually SNOWED in the winter. (and that I was a teacher, so I usually got to stay home and enjoy it -- I might have felt differently if I had to get out and drive in it). :)

Oh - and little man insisted that he wear a "tie like Daddy" since we were going to "work wif Daddy". AND he actually kept it on all day! Who'd have thought a 23 month old would keep a tie on all day????

He charmed everyone in his Daddy's office, and even took a nap (after making rounds in the hallways with his stroller) while we were there.

OH - and he broke every Metro rule about not talking to people because he was sooo excited to be riding on the Metro. Most people smiled and waved / talked back to him, though. :)
