Mississippi Trivia

Haley Barbour is only the second person to win a second term as Governor in modern times. Kirk Fordice was the first.

How many governors would have been re-elected if the law hadn't prevented it, though? I think William Winter, for sure. Ross Barnett might have been our FDR. Waller, probably. Finch, no. Allain, no. John Bell Williams? Probably.

You are right harry. I never met a politician that didn't want just ONE more term, and some of those would have been given eight years.
