I posted this last evening and hope you will forgive me for posting again. Somebody sent it to me.
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."
No, but it is the most special day on the calendar for me to work. As a reporter/photographer I'm allowed the awesome priviledge of rubbing sholders with the greatest heroes, those men who fought for our country.
We will honor my cousin John Self, USAF who died in Iraq May 14 of this year. His mom will plant a flag on the court square in his brick and we will unveil his name on the stone marker.
WE have a flag for every soldier from Pontotoc who has died in every war since the civil war, around 160. on the court square. it is an awesome sight.
And armylife4me, *sniff* thank YOU for laying your life on the line every day for me. Most people in this nation have NO CLUE of the delicate danger our nation is in every day we wake up. And if it weren't for you, we would have already been dealing with suicide bombers on the streets of the US. Thanks for keeping us safe.
Stacey - those shots are no fun! We have some coming up the week before Christmas (what a great way for the pediatrician to say "happy birthday", huh?)
Hubby had the day off, so I actually got a bit of a break today, too. Now, back to my sewing machine . . .
When Ace gets shots, I usually am not too anxious about it, but I saw the dang needle and I saw all the fluid in the syringe and I felt awful for the kid. He's gotta get them for the next two days too :( Poor kid.
Marshall Ramsey, 39, is the editorial cartoonist for The Clarion-Ledger. He is a two-time Pulitzer finalist and is nationally syndicated by Copley News Service. His cartoons have appeared in USA Today, Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times and on his Mother's refrigerator. It is also rumored that his work has appeared frequently in the bathrooms of several prominent local politicians.

Yessir. God bless'em all.
I'm off but my wife isn't. The Honey-do list is rather extensive for today. I'll be glad to go back to work tomorrow so I can relax!

No, but to make up for it I get a lot of vacation days, and have never worked the day after Thanksgiving or the week between Christmas and New Years.
Negative. If the stock market is open, I am at work.
NO
haha...not hardly!
Nope ... I'm at work. I like the definition that bopper gave.
Nope.
Old bopper, that's a great post.
No, but I sure wish I did.
Of course not. We only get 7 holiday days off a year.

I am off but I sure do feel like I am just skipping work today.
hahaha @ "nyet, comrade"
And no. Worse. I had to take Ace for a shot given with a needle the size of a garden hose.
